RIP Dirk

On Wednesday, January 13th, Dirk was walking home from the bars after saying goodbye to friends. He was hit by a drunk driver at 1:53am. Dirk died instantly. He is survived by two loving parents and a devoted girlfriend. I don't feel right sharing this, but I know how much he loved sharing his insight and experience with guys struggling to get a grasp on this part of their life. We had a special relationship and you will be missed.

  1. I read this message about fifteen times, and still cannot believe it. I’m a reader from Belgium, and was a very huge fan of Dirk’s writing. Although we never met each other, he helped me like one of my best friends would. I’m crying my guts out at the moment, cannot believe it.
Dirk, you will be missed and I will never forget you and what I learned from you. Your writings made a huge impact on my life. Thanks to you, I started believing more in myself, “owning who i am”, instead of pretending somebody i thought would be viewed as attractive.
You teached me life lessons, Dirk, that i will never ever forget. I will miss you enormously man.

  5. I really don't know what to say. I appreciate everything you told me that helped me see things more clearly. It's funny how with the internet people can exchange ideas with individuals they've never met in person.

  6. I'll never be able to tell you how much your advice has helped me when I've been close to breaking points in my life. The best I can do however, is to take what you've imparted to me and live my life with a renewed sense of urgency and vigor, due in part to your writings and your character. You may be gone but you are not forgotten.

    Thank You Dirk,
    Nate.
